The income required to buy a median-priced home has dropped in many markets, though high housing costs have put home ownership out of reach for many workers in high-growth occupations, according to a study released this week by a housing research center.

More than 200 protesters crowded the street in front of Dianne Feinstein's estate Saturday afternoon calling for an end to disaster capitalism and neo-liberalism New Orleans, Louisiana.

Protesters were participating in the World Social Forum's Global Day of Action, which brings together national and international movements for human rights, economic and social justice and was part many of nationwide solidarity actions for Gulf Coast recovery.

CalHFA Commits $1.2 Million to Preserve Affordable Housing in Richmond

SACRAMENTO -- Rubicon Homes, an existing affordable housing complex in the City of Richmond will soon receive extensive renovations in order to preserve housing for 10 families with special needs. The California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) Board of Directors has approved a $1.2 million long term loan which will allow the owners to protect the rental affordability and serve families with at least one adult member with a disability and household incomes at or below 80% of area median income.
