Bay Localize will celebrate 5 Years of impactful changes to Bay Area climate policies, ‘grow local’ and rooftop garden projects, linking communities through education, hands-on projects, and community training.  Key campaigns focus on strengthening climate action plans, increasing people’s access to local, healthy foods, and powering our communities with renewable energy.  A feature video – Choose Love Over Fear by Tierra Films – tells the story of how everyday people create viable solutions to the growing challenges we face. Learn more as we honor the work of organizations at the forefront of social change with the Community Resilience Leadership Awards, and dance into the night with Ashel "Seasunz" Eldridge, named by Jet Magazine as one of the year’s up and coming artists to watch, and local hip soul performer Jennifer Johns.

This event features Keynote Speaker Oakland Mayor Jean Quan – an outspoken proponent of clean energy – who will provide some local examples of how one city, Oakland, California, is tackling tough issues of ramping up renewable power and taking bold climate action.  Working across nine Bay Area counties, Bay Localize has been at the forefront of the 21st century ‘green economy’ with solutions for cities that work!
